The higher education institutions (HEIs) in Yorkshire & the Humber (Y&H) are prominent features in our regional landscape, born out of a combination of distinctive local actions and national policy developments for the sector.

They are institutions which operate with a global reach. Individually and collectively, they represent a huge asset for our region.

To demonstrate this, Yorkshire Universities commissioned an assessment of the impact of the HEIs in the Y&H region. The report, Higher Education: delivering positive impact, gives an overview of the contribution made by higher education across five themes:

• Economy
• Health and Wellbeing
• Culture and Sport
• Skills
• Society and Community
